The Asus N550JK is a great gaming laptop for people who don’t want all the bells and whistles that come with more expensive models. It has an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive, Blu-ray player and Windows 10 operating system.
The “asus n550jk price” is a laptop computer that features an Intel Core i7-5500u processor, 8 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB hard drive. The Asus N550JK also has a 15.6 inch screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution.
Asus just announced the Asus N550JK-DS71T, an improved version of their famous N550 multimedia/gaming laptop.
The ASUS N550JK is the successor to the popular ASUS N550JV, featuring the newest next-generation NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M for enhanced multimedia and gaming.
It has a 4th generation Intel Core i7 Quad-Core Haswell CPU and a stunning 15.6-inch display, same like its predecessors.
The remainder of the features, characteristics, price, and where to acquire it are listed below. I’ve also included several owner reviews and game test videos below.
Features of the Asus N550JK-DS71T
The Asus N550JK now has the newest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M discrete graphics processor, based on the 28nm Maxwell architecture, GM107 chip, which is a significant increase.
With clock frequencies ranging from 876MHz+Boost to 963MHz+Boost, the GTX 850M has 640 CUDA Cores/shader units (depending of the variant).
Its discrete graphics engine includes a 2GB GDDR5 DDR3 dedicated memory capacity, a 64GB/s memory speed, and a 128-bit memory interface.
It boasts a memory rate of up to 2500MHz, making it noticeably faster and more energy efficient than the preceding GTX 700M series.
Although it isn’t as powerful as the GTX 860M, 870M, or 880M featured in the new Asus ROG G750 JM/JS/JZ series, it is capable of handling and running contemporary games, like Crysis 3. (see video below).
Additional Information:
There is some debate about whether the GTX 850M N550JK-DS71T utilizes DDR3 or GDDR5 memory.
The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M comes in two flavors. The first features a slower clock speed of 876MHz+Boost but a faster 2GB GDDR5 memory.
The second type, on the other hand, has a faster clock speed of 936MHz+Boost but slower 2GB DDR3 memory. DDR3 memory is used by the GeForce GTX 850M in the N550JK-DS71T.
Editor’s Choice
The N550JV’s other features and specs are almost identical to those of the preceding model. A review of the N550JV may be found here.
It is powered by a 4th generation Intel Core i7-4700HQ Quad-Core Haswell CPU with clock rates ranging from 2.4GHz to 3.4GHz, in addition to the GTX 850M discrete graphics processor.
You may switch from discrete to integrated graphics display depending on the program or game you’re running to preserve battery life since the CPU has an Intel HD Graphics 4600 built-in.
The CPU is coupled with 8GB of 1600MHz DDR3L memory, which can be upgraded to 16GB. There’s also a HDD, 1TB, 5400 RPM included, which I suggest upgrading to a 7200RPM HDD or SSD later.
Upgrading the N550Jk’s hard drive to a faster one will boost the laptop’s overall performance.
The Asus N550JK has a 15.6-inch ultra-crisp IPS Touch display with full HD resolution, 1920 x 1080, a 178-degree viewing angle, and an anti-glare surface.
For true cinema-quality surround sound, it also has SonicMaster Premium with ICEpower, Bang & Olufsen technology with the quad-speaker array, and an additional subwoofer (included).
The remainder of the specs are shown below.

Price and Purchase Information
In the United States, the Asus N550JK-DS71T has taken the place of its predecessor. It is currently available for $899.00.
An AC adapter, power cable, Asus Subwoofer, 4-cell Lithium Polymer Battery, and a 1-year limited warranty with accidental damage protection are included. I would recommend extending the laptop’s warranty for up to 2 or 3 years since it is quite beneficial.
Game Tests and Reviews for the Asus N550JK
Benchmade 42, a member of the NotebookReview forum, was able to get an Asus N550JK-DS71T.
According to his mini-review, the N550JK he received with a GTX 850M scored 4,173 / 4,144 and / 4,608 in 3DMark 11’s first, second, and third benchmark tests.
This is a significant upgrade over the GTX 750M and GTX 760M. He also put it to the test using a Crysis demo, and the results are as follows:
- At 1080p/medium settings, the average frame rate is 78-83 frames per second.
- Gpu utilization is at 99 percent for 25 minutes, and the graph shows a straight line at 99 percent GPU usage. There will be no spikes. The same goes for the core and memory clocks.
- After 25 minutes, the CPU reached 84°C and the GPU reached 77°C. Remember how the N550JV CPU throttles as soon as it reaches 80-82 degrees Celsius and drops to 800 MHz? This one kept all four cores at 3.1-3.2 GHz and never went below that.
In addition to his mini-review, games played with the N550JK are included below. The game videos following are courtesy of O::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
On the Asus N550JK, Battlefield 4 is running.

On the Asus N550JK, I’m playing Crysis 3.
